چکیده

Electrical modeling and simulation of the LHC magnet strings are being used to determine the key parameters that are needed for the design of the powering and energy extraction equipment. Poles and zeros of the Laplace expression approximating the Bode plot of the measured coil impedance are used to synthesize an R/L/C model of the magnet. Subsequently, this model is used to simulate the behavior of the LHC main dipole magnet string. Lumped transmission line behavior, impedance, resonance's, propagation of the power supply ripple, ramping errors, energy extraction transients and their damping are presented in this paper.

Design and performance evaluation of spheroid geometry for brain PET scanner using Monte Carlo modeling

Introduction: There has been a curiosity about the spheroid geometry for PET scanners developments since several years ago, therefore in this study, we are aiming to evaluate the performance of this geometry and compare its performance with cylindrical geometry using Monte Carlo simulation. Methods: We simulated a spheroid geometry with a radius of 199 mm...

Analysis of Planar Microstrip Circuits Using Three-Dimensional Transmission Line Matrix Method

The frequency-dependent characteristics of microstrip planar circuits have been previously analyzed using several full-wave approaches. All those methods directly give characteristic of the circuits frequency by frequency. Computation time becomes important if these planar circuits have to be studied over a very large bandwidth. The transmission line matrix (TLM) method presented in this paper ...

Fully Distributed Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of an Improved Non-Uniform Traveling Wave Structure

Modeling and simulation of communication circuits at high frequency are important challenges ahead in the design and construction of these circuits. Knowing the fact that the lumped element model is not valid at high frequency, distributed analysis is presented based on active and passive transmission lines theory. In this paper, a lossy transmission line model of traveling wave switch (TWSW) i...

Compensation of Cross-Contamination in Simultaneous 201Tl/99mTc Myocardial Perfusion SPECT Imaging

Introduction: It is a common protocol to use 201Tl for the rest and 99mTc for the stress cardiac SPECT imaging. Theoretically, both types of imaging may be performed simultaneously using different energy windows for each radionuclide. However, a potential limitation is the cross-contamination of scattered photons from 99mTc and collimator X-rays into the 201Tl energy window. We used a middle en...

Presentation of a Non-invasive Method of Estimating Arterial Stiffness by Modeling Blood Flow and Arterial Wall Based on the Determination of Elastic Module of Arterial Wall

Introduction: Arterial stiffness is an important predictor of cardiovascular risk. Several indices have been  introduced to estimate the arterial stiffness based on the changes in the brachial blood pressure. Since the  substitution  of  the  blood  pressure  changes  in  the  central  arteries  such  as  carotid  with  the  blood  pressure  changes in the brachial results in error in the blood...
